When you’re starting a blog, a common mistake is to post about anything. Such as:
- What you think people care about
- What you ate for dinner last night
- What you feel like
It’s better to have a plan. So, while I thought I was just going to…VOILA! Start My Blog. It did not happen that way. Instead…I obsessively searched the web for Bloggers I liked. Then kept reading, journaling and reading some more.
What I found is that most successful Bloggers keep to common themes, ideas or categories to post about.
For example, one of my favorite Bloggers XO Sarah, writes about more general categories appealing to the freelancer:
Business
Blogging
Freelancing
Now I needed to discover my own themes or ideas. But that’s not always easy. It helps if you choose topics that:
>>>You’re interested in
>>>You’re an expert in
>>>You’re good at
It could even include tips and advice you already provide to your current customers or clients.
After much toil and turmoil, I finally have my list…WOO HOO!:
